The national Transplant Organisation has denounced the appearance on a website over the weekend of a dozen classified advertisements relating to the sale of body parts, a practice which is illegal throughout the European Union.
A kidney was being offered for sale for €180,000 and someone was offering a kidney and liver. In Spain, trafficking in human organs carries a prison sentence of up to 12 years.
