The Board of Governors of Nueva Nerja school have discussed, and approved, a proposal by Nerja Council to build a covered pavillion as well as an underground car park beneath the existing sports facilities at the school.
The Council approved this project last November and now the school board has also discussed and approved it, at the request of the delegation for Education, Culture and Sports, with 13 votes in favour and one abstention.
The Council sees this underground car park as an important and much needed part of the infrastructure for the area which includes the school, a cemetery, a bus stop, a notary etc.
The Council now hopes that the delegation for Education will officially contact the municipal authority so that it can initiate the necessary administrative procedures to put the contract out to tender.
The construction work will, according to the Council, be carried out so as not to interfere with daily life in the school.
