Local firemen were called into action yesterday (Sunday) to deal with a fire at Cafe Biznaga underneath the Toboso Apartments on the Balcon de Europa in Nerja yesterday. The fire broke out during the busy lunchtime period but the fire crew were able to bring it quickly under control without any apparent structural damage. There was of course a strong burning odour in the area and the Toboso apartment rooms directly above were no doubt strongly affected by this and we would expect the cafe to be closed for a few days whilst repairs and a clean-up operation is carried out.
