TARTING-UP MARBELLA PROMENADE

After five years of neglect, complaints by all and sundry, the promenade in Marbella has been receiving attention and probably, weather permitting, the work could be finished by Easter and in time for the first major influx of tourists to the area.

The work has been divided into sections and includes painting, replacing or installing handrails, replacing or installing various items of beach ‘furniture’, tidying up drainage channels and making sure that lighting is adequate and actually works. It covers an area from La Bajadilla to Playa del Ancón.

The total budget for these works is €750,000, with €386,000 being funded by the Junta de Andalucía, the rest by the municipality.
