The Sevilla-Huelva train service was interrupted yesterday after someone reported seeing a body on the line.
A body was reported on the Villanueva del Ariscal to Sanlúcar la Mayor section of the Sevilla-Huelva railway line yesterday morning. Instructions to stop were immediately given to a train already travelling on that section and the engine pulled up about 300 metres from where a body was indeed on the line.
Police believe that the victim took his own life although a full investigation is being carried out. As a matter of routine in such cases, the train was inspected for any signs of impact and the driver was breathalised.
