Numancia are Division Two Champions

A 2-2 draw with Castellón was enough to see Numancia crowned Division Two Champions for the first time in their history.

Castellón were two up by half time and it was looking like it would stay that way, but a Bolo free kick and a Mario header just after the restart was enough to secure a valuable draw.

The Blue and Whites, one of three teams chasing the two remaining promotion spots, could only manage a 0-0 draw at La Rosaleda. They are now in the third promotion spot, just ahead of Real Sociedad who also drew, 1-1 with Salamanca.

The point for Cádiz was enough to see them move above Córdoba and out of the drop zone, a good start for new manager Julián Rubio.

Sporting Gijón came from a goal behind to beat Córdoba 2-1 and move back into second place in the table. Only 2 points separate the teams in second, third and fourth place, so it’s perm any two from three.

Málaga led the way for so long but then had a shaky period, time to reverse that!!
