Opposition parties in Vélez-Málaga have been bemoaning the fact that there is apparently no money for painting zebra crossings, but enough to hire a photographer solely for the purpose of taking pictures of the mayor, Francisco Delgado Bonilla.
Both the leader of the Independent Party in Torre del Mar, Manuel Rincón Granados, and the leader of the Socialists in Vélez-Málaga, Juan Herrera, have criticised the hiring of a photographer solely for the purpose of taking pictures of the mayor, the cost of which is said to be €24,000 per annum.
The Council already has a Press Officer who is earning in the region of €40,000 per year.
