A picture of a leaping Iberian wolf has won the prestigious Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009 award.
The animal was photographed during a night time leap over a fence, amazing shot. Some of the other entries are rather good, too. Quite a task choosing a winner as there were 43,135 entries from 94 countries this year.

The Daily Mail does, quite often in fact, come up with some very good nature pieces or photos and I wholeheartedly agree with the commenters who ask why, when they can produce this, do they concentrate on misleading headlines and stories, sleazy political diatribe and reporting the every movement of uninteresting (so-called) celebrities.
