There were 89 industrial fatalities in Andalucía during the first five months of this year, an increase of 20.2% on the same period last year.
The total number of industrial accidents in Andalucía was 72,556, a slight decrease on last year, but the number of fatalities were up.
Of the fatalities, 76 occurred in the actual workplace and 13 took place either on the journey to or from work. By province, these were:
Sevilla – 20
Cádiz – 17
Málaga – 10
Córdoba – 10
Granada – 9
Jaen – 8
Almería – 8
Huelva – 8
The 72,556 accidents were made up of 89 fatalities, 950 serious accidents and 71,517 minor accidents or injuries. Nationally, there were 476 fatalities during the first five months of this year, up 3.7% on last year.
