A boat carrying ten illegal immigrants, all Algerian, was intercepted last night southeast of Cabo de Gata, Almería.
The boat was first spotted by a merchant vessel early yesterday evening as it drifted about 25 miles southeast of Cabo de Gata. The Marine Rescue vessel ‘Salvamar Denébola’ then intercepted the small boat and transported the occupants, all adult males, to Almería port.
After a medical check-up, the passengers were handed over to the National Police who will now start proceedings to repatriate them.
