The Nerja Council is putting in a request to the Department of Coasts to clean up an area between the Parador and Carabeillo beach.
The area was fenced off by the Department of Coasts several years ago but nothing has been done and the Council would like it cleaned up so it is no longer an eyesore. The fencing itself has deteriorated badly over time and a recent fire in the area has not helped matters.
The Council is requesting that the area be cleared of sugar cane and eucalyptus, tidied up and then landscaped, including the planting of 20 Washingtonia filifera palms!
