26 arrests after Madrid train brawl

An argument between two Rumanians and a group of South Americans on a Madrid local train turned into a fullscale fight and ended up with 26 people being arrested.

It all happened at around 06.35 on Sunday morning on the C-5 line between Humanes and Móstoles. It is unclear exactly caused the massed brawl but it ended up with 26 people being arrested, 14 of them minors.

The fight was not exactly friendly as the police confiscated 3 machetes with 50cm blades, a knife with a 30cm blade and an extendable baton. Just the sort of items one normally carries when traveling on the train, of course.

The detainees, mostly illegal immigrants, were:

adults: 2 Rumanian men, 5 Ecuadorian men, 4 Colombian men and 1 Colombian woman.

minors: 4 Colombian girls, 8 Colombian boys, 1 Bolivian and 1 Ecuadorian boy.
