Figures for the average hotel occupancy rate in Málaga province during August show a decrease of 4.62% when compared to last year.
The actual number of people staying in hotels in Málaga province was down by 1.9%. There were slightly more Spanish tourists choosing to stay in hotels but the number of foreigners was down by 4.8%.
In Málaga city, the fall in the number of people staying in hotels was even more significant, down 16% on last year.
The resort with the most ‘overnight stays’ was Torremolinos.
