A judge at the Criminal Court in Jaén has acquitted a resident of La Carolina accused of mistreating his wife by pulling her knickers down in public.
The victim stated that her life had been hell, her husband constantly mistreating and humiliating her in front of friends. She added that on other occasions, in an attempt to be funny, her husband would place his testicles on the table and announce that it was what she had ordered.
The prosecution was asking for a three year jail term but the judge ruled that, although the man’s actions were vulgar, crude and in bad taste, the accused had no intention to humiliate and therefore no crime was committed.
