Compensation for medical error

A judge in Sevilla has ordered the SAS, The Health Authority, to pay €60,000 in compensation to a woman whose baby died at the Hospital Infanta Elena in Huelva as the result of a medical error.

The judges report rules the death to have been caused by a misinterpretation of the foetal heart rate which led to a late intervention through Caesarian section. The baby died after 26 days.
