Two bidders

Two companies have have put in bids to become the new private partners in Aguas de Narixa . S.A., the proposed new water management company for the area.

Aqualia and Aquagest have both submitted very similar bids, around €5.4 million, and it is now up to the Council to evaluate the bids and choose a partner.

The board of the new company, Aguas de Narixa . S.A., will be made up of 6 directors from the partner company and 6 from the Council, with the mayor of Nerja as the chairperson.

The opposition parties are continuing to oppose this new setup. The PSOE are not opposed to the idea itself, but believe the current proposal to be a hoax and a disguised loan. The IU believe the process will lead to an increase in water prices for the consumer.
