Seven people were injured on Monday in Fuente Vaqueros, Granada, as an age-old feud between two families erupted into a violent brawl. Three people have so far been arrested, partly for their own safety.
The incident began in the morning on calle Andalucía at the entrance to the town. A father and his two sons, residents of Chauchina, were on their way to Fuente Vaqueros when they were intercepted by another family, local gypsies, with whom they have an ancient feud.
A brawl erupted and seven people were injured, most needing hospital treatment. The father and his sons have been detained by the Guardia Civil, partly for their own safety but they have also been charged with the crime of causing injuries.
Further arrests are expected, namely the other family involved in the fracas.
