The new Wines and Delights shop, located almost on the corner of calle El Barrio and avenida Castilla Perez, looks almost set to open. The signs are up and the inside is stocked with shelves full of wine bottles and jars of unknown substances.
The premises at the end of calle El Barrio, formerly occupied by sellers of Rayban items but empty since the summer, is undergoing renovation so it won’t be long before the new business appears. The windows are covered with paper, always a sign that someone is up to something and doesn’t want anyone else to know. Pretty pointless in Nerja as the whole population tends to know exactly what’s going on, usually even before the new owners themselves!
Club Nautique, the diving and activity centre on the corner of avenida Castilla Perez and calle San Miguel, have gone and the property is up for sale.
At least as one business closes, another one gives it a go, which is encouraging.
