November 25th was International Day Against Violence to Women, with marches taking place all over the country to condemn gender violence.
But even on this day, incidents occurred. In Almuñecar, a 24 year old youth was arrested after stabbing his girlfriend.
Police were alerted to the fact that two people were arguing in the street and when they went to check, they found the girl was bleeding. The girl told the police she had been injured by glass and was transferred to hospital.
Doctors, however, discovered that the wounds were inflicted by a knife. This opened the way for a police investigation as the girl had refused to lodge a complaint against her boyfriend and he was then detained.
