There were disturbances last night in Mojonera, Almería, after a sub-Saharan youth was stabbed to death during a brawl.
The incidents occurred just after 21:00 last night near the plaza Príncipe Felipe when a fight broke out between a sub-Saharan youth and three Moroccans. During the fight, the youth, a 27 year old from Mali, received at least one stab wound and died from his injuries.
Following the stabbing, friends and compatriots of the deceased gathered in nearby calle Solera, setting fire to vehicles and causing other damage, scenes remeniscent of those in neighbouring Roquetas de Mar last September.
One person has so far been detained and charged with disorderly conduct. The people responsible for the stabbing fled the scene and have not yet been located. Mojonera is calm this morning, although the police are maintaining a presence on the streets just in case.
