Extraordinary Plenary session called to discuss infrastructure projects

The Nerja Council has called an Extraordinary Plenary session for Monday December 22nd to debate and discuss planned infrastructure projects to be financed by the State Government.

The agenda for the meeting is:

  1. To discuss and submit projects to be financed by the Fondo Estatal de Financiación Local (State Fund for Local Finance), which was approved by the State Government by Royal Decree 9/2.008 on November 28th 2008, and to reach a consensus of all government groups.
  2. To create a Monitoring Committee, composed of members from all political groups, to oversee these projects.
  3. To agree that, as far as is possible and within the law, implementation of these projects be carried out by local companies in order to boost the local economy.

The Opposition PSOE had been complaining that no meeting had been called and bemoned the lack of participation and consensus in drawing up proposals for infrastructure projects.
