A total of 76 people died on the roads of Spain during the Christmas period, which started on December 19th. There were 14 fatalities in Andalucía.
The total is 10 more than the same period last year, despite intensice police campaigns.
During the whole of 2008, some 2,182 people died in road traffic accidents.
