Málaga airport passenger figures were down by 5% in the first 11 months of 2008 when compared to 2007. In total, 12.1 million passengers used Malaga Airport during the eleven month period on 112,916 flights.
Much of the reduction in the number of air passengers has been put down to travelers preferring to use the AVE high speed train service between Málaga and Madrid.
