Despite the rather odd kick-off time of 12:00, around 400 people turned up at the Estadio Municipal Enrique López Cuenca to see Málaga C.F. draw 2-2 with Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam.
The starting line-up for the Blue and Whites was: Arnau, Iban Cuadrado, Luque, Pere Martí, Fernando, Calleja, Luque D.A, Miguel Ángel, Manolo Gaspar, Cheli and Pablo Barros.
For Sparta, it was: Varkevisser, Vermes, Van Gessel, Knol, Peopon, Slot, Strootman, Jaggy, John, Falkenburg and Godee.
Málaga opened the scoring in the thirteenth minute with a strike by Fernando but Slot equalised after twenty-five minutes. Peopon then put Sparta ahead, but Salva saved the day to make the final score 2-2.
