The official municipal website in Vélez-Málaga has been subjected to an attack which involved the removal of the picture of the current mayor, María Salomé Arroyo.
The attackers removed the picture of current mayor and replaced it with a photo of the former mayor, Francisco Delgado Bonilla, who lost the mayorship in October following a censure motion.
Messages in support of Francisco Delgado Bonilla were also placed on the site, as was a call for the Socialists to resign.
The National Police is now investigating the matter.
