Two people have so far died during the current bout of bad weather, the latest casualty being a Guardia Civil officer in Burela, Lugo.
The officer was busy clearing trees from the road when another tree blew down and fell on top of him. Winds in the area were gusting up to 150 kph.
The first victim of the bad weather was a woman in Barcelona who died after a wall collapsed due to high winds. She had been rushed to hospital after the incident but later succumbed to her njuries.
