Storms affect rail network in Málaga

The storms of yesterday caused damage to the rail infrastructure in Málaga city, not least at the Maria Zambrano station where part of the entrance was damaged.

The high winds tore off several parts of the main entrance hall and these fell onto the electricity network causing a short circuit. The AVE line was left without power and the arrival of the Madrid train was delayed by thirty minutes, the train having to wait in Antequera until the problem was rectified.

In addition, a wall between the train station and the bus station collapsed.

Several local trains had to be re-routed and in the San Andrés district, an electricity pylon collapsed causing more problems for the trains.
