BNP blooper

Oops. The BNP appear to have made a bit of a faux pas with their latest campaign against immigration, especially from Eastern Europe.

The back-drop to their anti-immigration campaign shows a Spitfire fighter plane with the slogan ‘Battle for Britain’. Unfortunately, the Spitfire in the picture has been identified as belonging to RAF 303 Squadron. Nothing wrong with that, except that RAF 303 Squadron was made up of Polish airmen!

Not as embarrassing, however, as one blunder from the Soviet and Cold War era. The Soviets issued a Veteran’s Day stamp….with the battleship USS Missouri on it!!! It was red faces all round after that one.

A Defence Ministry spokesman at the time said: ‘We do have similar ships, beautiful ships. They should have used one of those’……
