Real and Barca win, Málaga and Nerja don’t

football1Real Madrid are doing all they can to keep the pressure on Barcelona, this time winning 3-0 against Almería.

Brazilian Marcelo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute and then the in-form Huntelaar – eight goals in his last six games – grabbed a pair to give Real a comfortable win.

The Blue and Whites, looking to climb into the top four and earn a place in the Champions League, fell a little short against leaders Barcelona. Goals from Alves, Messi, Henry, Xavi and Eto’o (2) saw Barca just shade the match, 6-0 the final scoreline.

Málaga are now sixth in the table and five points behid fourth placed Villarreal. Still a bit of work to do to qualify for the Champions League.

In the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3, CD Nerja lost 1-0 at CD Martos. Leaders Mancha Real are still ten points clear at the top after a 1-2 win against Real Jaén B. Second placed El Palo also registered a win, 3-2 against Vilches.

Bottom club Alcalá suffered another heavy defeat, going down 1-7 on their trip to Baeza C.F.
