The Minister of Defence, Carme Chacón, has reaffirmed Spain’s determination to withdraw its troops from Kosovo, stating that the decision was made by the entire Government and is ‘immutable’.
The decision has caused somewhat of a stir with the USA and Spain’s NATO allies, but the Minister is sticking to her guns. One of the main reasons cited for the action is the fact that Spain doesn’t actually recognise the unilateral declaration of independence made by Kosovo.
