The Mayor of Ronda, Antonio Marín Lara, has cancelled the Real Feria celebrations in May as a rsult of the current economic situation.
The money saved by not holding the feria, about €200,000, will go towards a €300,000 scheme to create 126 jobs in the municipality.
The Mayor is hoping for the support of the local citizens for his plan and added that they could go years without a feria if necessary.
