The Councilor for Parkes and Gardens, Jonathan Méndez Hermant, has announced the start a programme of tree planting or replacement in various parts of the municipality.
The Councilor stated that many complaints had been received regarding trees which, due to deterioration, were either causing problems for residents or were causing damage to pavements or roads.
The new palm trees will be of the type ‘Wasintona’, a species unaffected by the destructive Red Palm Weevil. New trees, 25 of them, have already been planted along the N-340 near the Rapto de Europa roundabout. Next on the list, due to requests by residents of the area, is calle Chaparil.
