A 66 year old Swedish woman in Torrevieja died last night after allegedly being strangled by her husband, also a Swedish national.
Police found the body of the woman at her home in urbanisation La Fiesta in Torrevieja. She had apparently been dead for several hours. The husband was then detained.
There is no record of any prior history of violent behaviour by the detainee.
