Rafael continues his dominance on clay, winning his fifth straight Monte Carlo Masters title by beating Novak Djokovic 6-3 2-6 6-1 in the final.
Djokovic had his chances against the world numero uno, but Nadal battled through and has now equalled Roger Federer’s mark of 14 tournament wins in the elite Masters 1000 Series, with only Andre Agassi having won more. Agassi notched up a total of 17 Masters titles.
