€210 million credit for small and medium businesses in Andalucía

The new government of Andalucía has approved a new series of credits for small and medium businesses (SME’s) to help them through the economic crisis.

There will be funds available for those in the agricultural, commercial and cultural sectors, a total of €210 million all told.

SME’s are defined as businesses employing less than 250 people and with a turnover of less than €50 million. Applications for funds can be submitted from May 15th.

Funding is being chanelled through long-term loans, venture capital, equity loans, guarantees and other recognised business practices, and have to be repaid.

For 2009, there is €120 million available for agriculture, €70 million for trade and tourism, €10 million for culture and €10 for projects relating to ‘internationalisation’.
