A fire in Torre del Mar has destroyed the kitchen of a hamburger establishment in the El Copo area next to the paseo marítimo.
The blaze started at around 02:30 on Monday morning. Firefighters hastily removed gas bottles from the kitchen to prevent explosions as they tackled the fire and tried to stop it spreading to adjacent properties.
It took the firefighters an hour to extinguish the blaze. The owner of the premises believes that the fire could have been caused by an electrical short circuit, discounting the possiblity of an ‘oversight’ by any of the staff.
