In the Parla district of Madrid, an 80 year old woman has died at her home as a result of injuries allegedly inflicted by her 84 year old husband. The husband also died after apparently committing suicide.
The children of the couple, concerned because their parents had missed an appointment, went to the house in calle Monte Tabor and found the woman lying in a pool of blood on the sofa, covered with a blanket and a crucifix, and her husband hanged.
According to police reports, there were no prior complaints of domestic violence by either the woman or her husband.
