During 2008, a total of 15,000 Andalucíans appeared before the courts charged with various motoring offences and 100 of these are currently in jail either as repeat offenders or for serious traffic crimes, some of which resulted in a fatality.
In addition, 5,000 drivers have managed to lose all of their license points and are banned from driving. It is also interesting to note that only 8% of traffic crimes are committed by women.
