Successful Davis Cup

The Davis Cup tie in Marbella proved to be a great success, bringing an estimated €10 million to the municipality.

The tie between Spain and Germany, which ended 3-2 in favour of Spain, brought thousands of tennis fans to Marbella and, more importantly, they appear to have been big spenders.

During the three days of the tournament there was apparently not a rental vehicle to be had and hotel occupancy was around 94%. A profitable few days.

The tournament was also a great media event, with 160 television stations, 40 radio stations, 85 newspapers and 75 official photographers in attendance.
