At an official ceremony on Wednesday, the first brick was laid for the new Community Services Centre. Those attending the cermony included the Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, the provincial delegate for Equality, Amparo Bilbao, and the local Councilor for Social Services, Angélica Portillo.
The new building is costing in excess of €471,000 and has a completion period of eight months. The new building will have a usable area of 558 square metres and is being financed jointly by the local Council and the Junta de Andalucía.
