On Saturday, the new lighting system on Burriana beach will be used for the first time for the Beach Volleyball Championships which begin at 20:00.
At a later stage, further new lighting will be integrated into the system for such things as the storage areas and for activities such as night canoeing.
The whole lighting project will have cost €27,000 by the time it is all finished and switched on. Future plans include new lighting for Calahonda and El Salon beaches.
