Today is the VII Dia del Melocotón (Day of the Peach) in the town of Periana.
The celebrations begin at 20:00 with the inauguration of the new gymnasium by the head of the Council, Salvador Pendón, and this is followed by the eating of numerous delicacies whose main ingredient is, of course, the peach.
At 21:30, the ‘pregón’ (opening speech) will be delivered by Isabel Muñoz, Vice-Minister of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía.
