Thieves made off with €40,000 in jewellery and a Mercedes valued at €120,000 after a raid on a villa in Nerja on Wednesday.
The thieves gained access via the terrace while the owners were sleeping and grabbed the jewels. It is thought that the thieves used some sort of sleeping potion on the victims as they did not wake up during the course of the robbery.
The Mercedes was recovered in Vélez-Málaga on Thursday.
