Maritime Rescue has intercepted a boat carrying 19 Algerians after a relative of one of the passengers became concerned about the time it was taking to make the crossing and alerted the authorities.
The boat, with 19 people on board, 3 of them children, set off from Orán in Algeria in the early hours of Saturday morning. It was interecpted by a Maritime Rescue vessel thirty-six miles south of the Sabinal lighthouse in Almería and the passengers were taken to Almería Port.
