One man has died and a woman is missing in Arenas de San Pedro as a result of a serious fire in the province of Ávila.
The forest fire has so far destroyed over 300 hectares of land and threatens the towns of Arenas de San Pedro, El Arenal and Mombeltrán.
The man who died in the fire lived in urbanisation Las Majadas in Arenas San Pedro. It is known that the fire was started intentionally.
Several areas of Mombeltrán have been evacuated as a precautionary measure, residents spending the night in schools and sports centres in Arenas de San Pedro.
