Granada man acquitted of drugs trafficking

At a hearing in Granada, a man who was facing a 15 month jail sentence and €700 fine for drugs trafficking has been acquitted after the drugs were deemed to be for his own personal use.

The man was arrested after a search revealed that he was carrying 15 acorns of marijuana weighing a total of 138.90. In the ruling, the court accepted the fact that the amount of drugs far exceeded the normal amount purchased by the average consumer but expressed doubts that the drugs were for sale or distribution when taking into account the personal circumstances of the accused.
