Eight year prison sentence upheld

The Supreme Court has upheld a decision by the Audiencia de Almería condemning two men, aged 29 and 33 years, to a total of eight years in prison for trying to set light to a service station in El Ejido.

The two individuals were upset after the attendant refused to sell them alcohol.

The Supreme Court rejected a defence appeal, stating that the two men were well aware of the potential risk posed by a number of butane gas cylinders stored in a nearby cabin.
