A 49 year old man died on Friday evening on an industrial estate in Albox (Almería) after becoming trapped in a silo containing calcium carbonate.
The man, an employee of Reverté Productos Minerales S.A., the owners of the silo, was carrying out cleaning duties when he fell into the 14 metre deep silo and became trapped. The silo was empty at the time of the accident.
During the recovery of the body by firefighters, several people had to be treated for dust inhalation although none required hospitalisation.
