The Council has today approved the terms of reference relating to this year’s feria (October) lighting, a project which is put out to tender each year.
The budget for lighting for the feria has been reduced by 24% to €105,000. The reduction is in line with austerity measures being implemented by the Council (such as increased budget for municipal payroll and reduced budget for investment?!) as approved in the recent Plan de Saneamiento (Reorganisation Plan).
Rumours that next year’s feria will include spectacular illumination using a box of tea lights have yet to be confirmed.
