Figures for the hotel industry issued by the National Statistics Institute (INE) show that, for the month of July, the number of overnight stays was down by 4.8% when compared to the same month in 2008.
In Andalucía, the fall was just 1.6%, with 5,257,714 overnight stays in the hotels in the region. Hotel prices for July were 5.9% lower than the previous year in a continuing trend of reduced prices.
